(Mini) staff meeting 2013-01-16

As this staff meeting was supposed to be about just a few subjects, it was decided to not invite everyone, but only those directly involved. A staff meeting with everyone (i.e. team leaders) involved is planned for next month, February the 14th.

Mentor project

We did a small test over the past 3 months with a small group of community members mentoring some new players. This wasn’t very successful and as such we have decided this is not the way to go for us. We look back at 2011’s TC.Academy project and feel that such an approach would work a lot better, both for ourselves as well as the mentees involved. As such a project requires a lot of time from 1 or 2 very dedicated individuals, we decided to let it hang for a while, and discuss this in more detail in future meetings.

Recruiting a new team

Right now we don’t feel our mumble is too empty, or that we, for whatever other reason, are in dire need of having more people. This point will return in a meeting after ETF2L’s Season 14 has ended.

Worms League

Turned out to be less successful than anticipated. As it stands, chances of a second season following the current are less than minimal. In addition, Oxy has announced that he will be very busy with other things in the months to come.

Community events

The Friday Night Party which happened September last year was quite a success. Doing random fun stuff with a big group of people made for a great atmosphere. Reservoir Dog will be arranging a follow up to this, more details will follow in a news post soon!

6v6 cup

For those not yet in the know (do you not hang out on mumble?), TC is hosting a 6v6 cup in the near future. Details as discussed in this meeting are as follows (although nothing has been set in stone yet):

• Single elimination
• Most matches in one night, the finals (and maybe semi-finals) on a separate day
• Coverage by casters (perhaps of vanillatv fame)
• 1 map (cp_quay, cp_metalworks.. We’re still looking at options)
• Prize pool of strange weapons signed by prominent TF2 figures (prem players and such)

6v6 cup DONATIONS

For the prize pool of our cup, we need to get our hands on aforementioned strange weapons. To do this, Reservoir Dog has taken it upon himself to accept donations in the form of tf2 items, which he then crafts and trades for keys, ultimately trading those for strange weapons. Res has received a fair amount of donations already, but we’re not quite there yet. If you have any items spare, please consider donating!

Website usage

Due to mumble being by far the quickest way of spreading news and rumours, our website isn’t used much. This isn’t a big deal but it has also halted further development where that was still applicable.
For those who haven’t seen it yet, we have a nice portal for STV demos and log files, found at stv.colonslash.eu and tf2logs.colonslash.eu respectively. It may take up to an hour for files to show up due to how the scripts work.
